Verb Moods

The Subjunctive Mood is used to express wishes, hypothetical situations, or actions that are not real. Example: 'If I were a bird, I would fly.'

The Indicative Mood is used to make factual statements or ask questions. Example: 'She is reading a book.'

The Imperative Mood is used to give commands or requests. Example: 'Close the door.'

The Interrogative Mood is used to ask questions. Example: 'Are you coming to the party?'

The Indicative Mood states facts, while the Subjunctive Mood expresses wishes or hypotheticals.

'I wish it were summer all year long.'

'The sun rises in the east.'

'Please finish your homework.'

It often uses 'were' instead of 'was' in hypothetical statements.
