Figurative Language

It's language not to be taken literal.

Use of any element of language (word, phrase, line, etc.) more than once.

A word that imitates the sound it represents. Example: 'buzz', 'bang', 'sizzle'.

A phrase or expression that has a figurative meaning different from its literal meaning. Example: 'It's raining cats and dogs.'
