Scientific notation is a way of expressing numbers that are too large or too small to be conveniently written in decimal form. It is written as the product of a number (between 1 and 10) and a power of 10.

How do you convert a number to Scientific Notation?

To convert a number to scientific notation, move the decimal point in the number until only one non-zero digit remains to the left of the decimal. Count the number of places the decimal has moved; this will be the exponent of 10. If you move the decimal to the left, the exponent is positive; if to the right, it is negative.
