What is a fact family?

A fact family is a group of related math facts that use the same numbers. For example, the numbers 6, 7, and 42 can create the facts: 6 x 7 = 42, 7 x 6 = 42, 42 ÷ 6 = 7, and 42 ÷ 7 = 6.
