Example: gatorade is a mixture of salt (electrolytes), sugar, and water to form a solution.

A property of a solution that depends on the number of solute particles, not their identity. ex: salting a road lowers the freezing point of water

A material with a constant composition and consistent properties throughout. An element or compound

Example: Neon and carbon dioxide are pure substances.

example: We can measure a substance's solubility

example: Salt is soluble or able to dissolve in water
