Present Simple and Present Continuous

The Present Simple tense is used to describe habits, routines, and general truths.

The Present Continuous tense is used to describe actions that are happening right now or around the current time.

For regular verbs, use the base form of the verb. For he, she, it, add 's' or 'es' (e.g., he plays, she watches).

The Present Continuous tense is formed using 'am/is/are' + verb-ing (e.g., I am running, they are playing).

Signal words include 'always', 'usually', 'often', 'sometimes', and 'never'.

Signal words include 'now', 'at the moment', 'right now', and 'currently'.

They live in Madrid.

She is sitting at her desk right now.

My brother is having lunch now.

'I eat' is Present Simple (habit), while 'I am eating' is Present Continuous (action happening now).
