The Atatürk House Museum is the house of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder and first president of Türkiye, in Thessaloniki, where he was born in 1881 and which is now used as a museum. The Municipality of Thessaloniki decided to buy the house in 1933 on the occasion of the anniversary of the foundation of Turkey and gift it to Mustafa Kemal Pasha; the purchase process was completed and the house was gifted in 1937 and opened as a museum in 1953.
