Since the Song dynasty lost their throne after Heaven removed its blessing, the Yuan [Mongol] dynasty rose from the desert to enter and rule over China for a hundred years. Heaven, however, tired of their misgovernment after a century, turn their fate to ruin. We, as a simple peasant of Huai-yu, decided to save the people, and it pleased the Creator. He granted us civil and military power, the right to rule. We occupy the imperial throne of China under the dynastic title of the Great Ming.
