Abdullah offers to sell Ahmad crayons for $25, to which Ahmad responds "Can I instead purchase the crayons for $14?". Abdullah says "No" and argues that because he rejected Ahmads counter-offer, that terminates the agreement between them. Advise Ahmad.

In the case of Stevenson, the court held that Inquiries by the offeree, means that even if the question introduces new terms, it is still not a counter-offer/rejection of the original offer.

In the case of Poweirza the court held that, in order to determine wether the offeree has made an inquiry or a counter-offer, the court must place a reasonable man in the shoes of the offeror and determine wether he would view the offeree's statement as an inquiry or a counter-offer.
