Explanation
So, you already guessed it right about what an atom is, but hold on that's not all. We still need to know more about an atom... The scientists who speculated about the atom had a different perspective, thus it lead to different argument and ended up in development of atom models, so check it out on the next slide

just skip this one, i just want to test it out

This is just a sponsor, your next explanation might be on the next slide

The Development of Atom Models by Scientists
Dalton's Model: Stuff can be broken into elements (the things listed on the periodic table).Elements are atoms with different masses.Compounds are a combinations of elements. You know, like water, salt or pizza.
7
The Development of Atom Models by Scientists
J.J. Thomson: In this model, the electrons are the small things and the rest of the stuff is some positive matter. This is commonly called the plumb pudding model because the electrons are like things in positive pudding.
8
The Development of Atom Models by Scientists
Rutherford Scattering: he found it through his experiment that, if the electron was small and negative, then the atom must have a small positive nucleus with the electrons around them.
9
The Development of Atom Models by Scientists
Niels Bohr: Electrons should move around the nucleus but only in prescribed orbits. When jumping from one orbit to another with lower energy, a light quantum is emitted.
