Passive Voice

The Passive Voice is another way of saying things where the focus is in "What happens" rather than "Who does it".

Active Voice

In the active sentence, the subject is the agent. The agent does the action.

Example:
Cylinders push the cutter.
Subject     Verb    Object

In the Passive Voice, the subject is NOT the same as the agent. The subject does not do the action. The agent does the action to the subject

Example:
The cutter is pushed by hydraulic cylinders.
