Verbs in the Past Simple tell us about a FINISHED action in the past.
Los verbos en el Pasado Simple nos dicen sobre una acción TERMINADA en el pasado.

For example:
We visited (visit) our grandparents last Saturday.

Tú has visitado tus abuelos el último sabado y despúes algunas horas ha regresado a su casa.. Esto es una acción terminada.

Example 2:
My sister and I played (play) in the park last Sunday afternoon

Mi hermana y yo jugaron en el parque el último domingo en la tarde.

The Past Simple  =  Present Simple + ed

This is the main rule  (la regla principal). 
For all pronouns: I, you , he......they.

Examples:
caminar - walk - walked:    I walked, you walked, he walked etc....
trabajar - work - worked;   she worked, we worked, they worked

But:  There are always exceptions.
Pero: Siempre hay excepciones.

And you have to study - memorize these exceptions!

Verbs end on -y (and this is the only vowel in the last syllable) change in:  i e d

llorar - cry - cried

Verbs with a short vowel (vocal) get a DOUBLE consonant

• parar - stop - stopped

• hacer compras - shop - shopped

• hablar - chat - chatted

• planificar - plan - planned

• robar - rob - robbed
