Investigate conditions needed for germination.

What are the conditions necessary for the seeds to germinate? Name them.

The factors are:

1. Water/ moisture.
2. Warmth/ temperature.
3. Air/ oxygen.

Activity.

 1. Place five seeds (preferable beans or peas because they germinate quickly) against the glass in jar.
2. Moisten the soil in one jar while the other jar should stay dry.
3. Place one jar of dry soil and one jar of moist soil in a warm place.
4.  One jar of dry soil  and one jar of moist soil in a cold place.   
5. Check the moist soil everyday to make sure it does not dry out.
6. Observe the seeds every two days for eight days.  

Make predictions.

What will happen to the seeds after 8 days.
1. Seeds placed in moist soil in a warm place.
2. Seeds placed in a dry soil in a warm place.
3. Seeds placed in a moist soil in a cold place.
4. Seeds placed in a dry soil in a cold place.
