Course Description
This course focuses on curriculum planning and the development of age-appropriate activities and lesson plans that encompass all areas of child development and administration and management techniques needed in order to operate a successful, quality child care facility.

Fire Drills
The signal for a fire drill is a broken tone (beep, beep, beep) sound, which will continue as long as necessary to clear the building. Students will exit in a quick, but orderly fashion out of the front classroom door and exit the building through the door at the west end of the main hallway. We will walk across the street together and stay as a group in the field beside the baseball fields. Teacher will call the roll to make sure everyone is accounted for. The all clear signal (a steady tone) will sound when it is safe to enter the building.

You must bring a white (excused) admittance slip upon return to school. The absence will be considered unexcused until a white slip is presented.

Make Up Work
Students who have excused absences will be allowed to make up work missed. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO CHECK WITH YOUR TEACHER FOR MISSED ASSIGNMENTS ON THE DAY YOU RETURN TO CLASS. Time permitted for work to be made up will be in proportion to days missed. Students are required to make-up all work missed due to any school-sponsored activity. Students will receive a 0 (zero) for any work not made up.

Care of Equipment and Supplies
As an Early Childhood Education student, you will learn to use several pieces of equipment and have access to many different supplies. You will be expected to use the equipment and supplies as instructed. DO NOT USE ANY EQUIPMENT OR SUPPLIES FOR PERSONAL PROJECTS WITHOUT GETTING PERMISSION FOR THE TEACHER. Always clean up your work area and return supplies to the proper place. Do not write on tables, chalkboard or chairs.
