 Baya Mehiaddine

She was born in Bordj El Kiffan on December 12, 1931. She died on  November 9, 1998. She was an Algerian artist, who inspired Picasso with her surrealist paintings.  She didn't go to school and she was completely self taught.  Her paintings show  silhouettes of wome, mysterious animals and everyday objects. Her style was inspired by the story of "The Thousand and One Nights"
