What is Acid Rain?

It includes any form of precipitation with acidic components, such as sulfuric or nitric acid that fall to the ground in wet or dry forms that can include rain, snow, fog, hail or even dust that is acidic.

What effect it has on living things?

When the acidic water from the rain is mixed with the water of lakes, streams or seas it makes the water acidic and harmful for the marine organisms. When the acidic water comes in contact with humans it can cause respiratory diseases, or it can worsen them. If we drink the acidic water it can cause brain damage over time.

What effect it has on non-living things?

The rain can dissolve the stone and corrode the metal. Before we know it, we have already used the materials in building exposed to rain and fog.
