What is a self portrait?

A self-portrait is a representation of an artist that is drawn, painted, photographed, or sculpted by that artist. 

In this class...

We will be doing various types of self portraits throughout the semester, for our first one it will be photographing an object still life that represents yourself.

OBJECTIVE:

Students will be able to photograph objects that unveil aspects of their character, things about their interests, habits, passions etc. 

For this project you will have to...

• Choose three objects that represent yourself. Photograph each object individually, then arrange them all together in a still life

For example

• Photograph 3 separate things; 1st an object that represents yourself overall, 2nd object representing something you like doing, 3rd object can represent your favorite color. 

• You are simply choosing 3 objects that represent you in some way.

• maybe you like music and play an instrument-photograph that instrument

• maybe you like cars/mechanics- photograph a car part or tools

• maybe you like cooking/baking- photograph a stove or cooking utensils

• maybe you like art- photograph art supplies, digital/ipad

• maybe you like sleeping-photograph your  bed/ a pillow

Requirements

With all objects you must take 20 photos of it for 1 good one. 

That means..

20 photos of object 1

20 photos of object 2

20 photos of object 3

20 photos of still life

all 3 together

For a total of 80 photos

Again if there's something you need to learn in this class is that you must take multiple photos.

look for different angles, try different background, lighting etc. 

You will then....

Choose your BEST photos and create a collage on the Pic Collage app.

Include In this Collage the following

•  best photo of object 1

• best photo of object 2

• best photo of object 3

• best photo of still life

What to turn in

A link to your folder with all your 80 photos & a separate photo of your collage.
