Let's explore hemispheres!

Hemispheres are half of a sphere.

Basically cutting the globe in half.

• Look at the picture, the grey is the correct hemisphere.

• So in the top left, the northern hemisphere is the top half of the globe.

• So in the top right, the western hemisphere is the left side of the globe since west goes left.

The Hemispheres are divided by the Equator and the Prime Meridian

• The imaginary line that goes from East to West (Left to right) and is horizontal is the EQUATOR.

• The imaginary line that goes from North to South (up to down) and is vertical is the PRIME MERIDIAN
