Present Continuous
O present continuous (presente contínuo) é um tempo verbal utilizado, na língua Inglesa, para descrever ações que estão acontecendo no momento da fala ou ações que acabaram de acontecer. Esse tempo verbal é formando pelo sujeito + simple present do verbo to be (are/is) + o gerúndio do verbo principal (-ing).

É a forma nominal de um verbo. Essa forma se caracteriza por não apresentar flexão de tempo, modo e número, se comportando de forma semelhante a um substantivo, adjetivo ou advérbio
(por isso o gerúndio recebe a classificação de forma nominal do verbo ou non-finite verb.

O Gerúndio é expressado pela terminação -ing e assume posições que normalmente são reservadas para os substantivos.
