Subjects and Predicates

A subject is who, or what the sentence is about. The subject can be complete or simple.

The predicate tells who or what the sentence does. Just like the subject the predicate can be complete or simple.

The teacher loves her students.

Teacher is the simple subject; The teacher is the complete subject.

The teacher loves her students.

loves is the simple predicate; loves her students is the complete predicate.
