Wayne's diary entry: Friday, 9/18/20

What a day! It could have been really bad. I'm glad it wasn't. My bus is often late, so I took an earlier bus to work. Good thing I did because the night manager left a mess and the boss was mad. I helped him clean up before we opened. Then, the first customer came in angry. She said the shirt she bought last week was ripped, and she wanted her money back. She kept yelling at me. It was hard to keep my cool. Finally, I calmed her down and told her to take a new shirt.

When the boss went to lunch I was the only one at the checkout stand. I'm slow at making change and it got really busy: 5 people lined up to pay at the same time. I got mixed up and gave a woman $10 too much in change. I didn't know it until she brought back the money. Nice lady!

13

After lunch the boss asked me to get the sweaters ready for the big sale. Danny helped me to put them in alphabetical order by the designer's last name. I always have a hard time doing this. Danny kept teasing me, too. I couldn't keep my mind on my job. I told him to lay off. I had to work hard to do the job right. I even went over it two times to make sure.

I helped a little boy pick a present for his mom. He was happy when he left.

Wayne had a typical day on the job: mostly good and partly bad.

On the next slides, are some things that made it a good day for him. Decide the reason for his success.
