Let's talk about possessions.

HAVE/ HAS

• Affirmative: Use have with I, we, you, they; and has with he, she, it.

• Negative: Use don't have with I, we, you, they; and doesn't have with he, she, it.

• Interrogative: Use Do ... have? with I, we, you, they; and Does ... have? with he, she, it.

Writing strategy

• AND: Use commas with and to make a list.

• OR: Use or after a negative verb to make a list.

• BUT: Use but to show contrast.

Examples

• AND: Ampit has a tablet, a laptop, a desktop, and a smartphone.

• OR: I don't have a tablet, a smartphone, or a laptop.

• BUT: I have a smartphone, but Isabelle doesn't.
