Compound Sentences
Compound Sentences contains two simple sentences combined with a comma and a conjunction!
There are 7 different types of conjunctions!
A comma is used to separate the two simple sentences!
Quick tip: You will need to get rid of the first punctuation mark at the end of your first sentence and change it to a comma!
We can also use a semicolon ( ; ) to combine compound sentences as long as they are similar!

These are called Coordinating conjunctions because they help us coordinate our sentences!

Simple Sentences
Simple sentences express one complete thought.
Simple sentences are also known as Independent clauses!
Example: The girl was walking her dog.

Run-On Sentences
Run -on sentences can happen when we forget to add punctuation to our sentences!
A run-on sentence joins two or more sentences that should be written separately.
Example: He went to go get food he brought home tacos.
