Evaporation vs Boiling

2
Evaporation
1.Evaporation is a process where liquid turn into vapor.
Evaporation can occur at any temperature. It occurs as long as the substance remains liquid at a particular temperature.
2.Evaporation is a type of vaporization that occurs on the surface of a liquid as it changes into the gas phase.
3
Factors affecting Evaporation
Surface Area: if the surface area increases, the rate of evaporation increases.
Temperature: the rate of evaporation increases with temperature. This allow particles to get more kinetic energy which further allows it to move into the vapor state.
Humidity: evaporation depends greatly on the water vapor present in the air. The more there is water vapor in the air, the more time it takes for the water to get evaporated
4
Boiling
Boiling means rapid vaporization of any liquid. That is, a change in state from liquid to vapor throughout the bulk of a liquid.
Boiling is the process by which a liquid turns into a vapor when it is heated to its boiling point.
5
Factors affecting boiling
Atmospheric Pressure: the boiling point for a substance changes due to the pressure. at higher pressures more energy is needed to break bonds between particles, this causes increased boiling. Therefore, there is a direct relationship between pressure and boiling.
Impurities: this affects the boiling point as it will cause an increase in temperature.
