Plot Map

• A plot map shows the main events and plot of the story and the way they are usually organize.  

• •The plot is the sequence of events that make up a story. 

Exposition

the part of the story where you are introduced to characters and setting

Rising Action

This is where the conflict occurs. Events occur that make the conflict more complicated. Events are building toward the climax.

Climax

This is the turning point of the story. Usually the main character comes face to face with a conflict.  

Falling Action

Tension eases as the failing action begins. The conflict is being solved.

Resolution

The story comes to a reasonable ending and the conflict is typically solved or determined unsolvable.
