Stative verbs divide into 4 categories:

  • senses (חושים) - see, hear, fell, taste, sound, smell

  • feelings (מחשבות) - love, hate, like, need, want

  • thoughts (מחשבות) - think, know, understand, remember, imagine, believe

  • others - have, belong

want = stative verb -> we usually don't use the present progressive rules with stative verbs
