CARTILAGE

  • •Beside the bones and joints some additional parts of the skeleton that are not as hard as the bones and which can be bent. These are called cartilage.

  • Cartilage is also found in the joints of the body.

  • Muscles are like elastic bands that are attached to the bones with the help of tough connecting bands called tendons.

Movement in fishes

  • The head and tail of the fish are smaller than the middle portion of the body-the body tapers at both ends.

  • During swimming, muscles make the front part of the body curve to one side and the tail part swings towards the opposite side.


  • The skeleton of the fish is covered with strong muscles.

  • Snakes do not have limbs (legs, arms or wings).

  • Most of the snakes move in a wave-like manner. 

  • The wave-like motion pushes the body forward by pressing against the ground.


  • They have scales, which cover their bodies and help them to crawl.
