Culture and Society

Society is a group of people sharing a culture.

How society is organized

• Social structures: pattern of organized relationships among groups of people within the society.

• They help people work together to meet one another´s basic needs.

• Social classes: grouping of people based on rank or status.

• Status: position that a person has due to wealth,land,ancestors or education.

Family

Is the basic ,most important social unit of any society.

Nuclear family: father,mother and their children.

Extended family: families that include several generations.(aunts,uncle,cousins,grandparents)

Language

All cultures have language. People learn the culture through it.

Each language preserves shared ideas and traditions.

Religion

Is the beliefs, helps people make sense of the world, guides people into ethics or standards of accepted behavior.
