Farhat Sadat- Afghanistan to Atlanta
My name is Farhat. I'm from Afghanistan. I'm seventeen years old. I speak Persian. I have six siblings-two brothers and four sisters. In October of 2016, I came to America. When we first heard that we would be coming to America, we were all very happy and excited. Our family moved here because our country is not good. My father was working in America for the past ten years. At first, my father worked three jobs in the United States-one of them at a carpet company-but he hurt his hand. It became a problem because he was in so much pain, so he took a new job at a farmers' market. He loves that. He enjoys it. He's happy

Coming to America
For me, it was very hard to leave because I had to say goodbye to all of my family in Afghanistan. I left my uncle, aunt, and all my other family here. I saw each of them one last time before coming to America. We left Afghanistan on a plane to come to America. The plane ride to the United States was good. We landed in Atlanta.
When I first came to America, I didn't know what the situation would be like here. I had always thought that the American people would be kind
and that they would help each other. I always thought the people in America were very beautiful. After getting here, I saw that I was right. But when I came to America, it was so confusing. Everything was new for me.
