Goal:

Students will be able to introduce themselves and others in a formal and informal matter. Students will able to know the different between when they should use the formal and informal ways of introducing themselves and others.

Vocabulary/Phrases (Vocabulario/Frases)

• Como te llamas? - What is your name? (informal)

• Como se llama usted? - What is your name?(formal)

• Me llamo..... - My name is....

• Si - yes

• No - No

• y - and

• Por favor - Please

• Lo siento - I'm sorry

• Te presento a... - I'd like you to meet (informal)

• Le presento a...- I'd like you to meet (formal)

• Mucho gusto - Pleased to meet you

• El gusto es mio - The pleasure is mine

Formal and Informal Introductions (Part 1)

Te presento a.... is used when introducing a friend or anyone informally.

Example (Ejemplo): "Te presento a Miguel" - I present you to Michael. I would like you to meet Michael.

Le presento a....is used when introducing someone formally.

Example (Ejemplo): "Le presento a Christina" - I present you to Christina. I would like you to meet Christina.

Formal and Informal Introductions (Part 2)

Le presento al or Te presento al ....is used when introducing someone that has the title of Senor, or any other masculine title such as doctor.

Examples (Ejemplos): "Te presento al senor Martinez" - I would like you to meet Mr. Martinez

"Le presento al doctor Lopez" - I would like you to meet Doctor Lopez.

Formal and Informal Introductions (Part 3)

Le presento a la....is used when introducing someone with the titles of Senorita, Senora or anyone with a feminine title such as Doctora (Dra.)

Example (Ejemplos) : "Le presento a la senorita Hernandez." - I would like you meet Ms. Hernandez.

"Le presento a la Dra. Rodriguez" - I would like you to meet Doctor Rodriguez

2)You are introducing Mr. Perez to your little brother, Mike.

3)You are introducing your doctor to your friend, Susie.

4) You are introducing your sister to your friend, Shoron.
