Multiplication of Fractions

• Multiply straight across for both top bottom

• Reduce the fraction before multiplying

• Cross multiply the numbers- top right fraction is multiplied by bottom left fraction top left fraction is multiplied by bottom right fraction

Steps of Multiplication of Fractions

Multiply the top numbers (the numerators).

2. Multiply the bottom numbers (the denominators).

3. Simplify the fraction if needed.
