There are many types of maps. Not all maps help you find a location but many maps are to help give you information.

We are going to look at 5 different types of maps today: historical, physical, political, climate, and economic,

Historical Map

• A modern map of a historical site or event

• This map compares how America looked before the Louisiana Purchase to how it looks now.

Physical Map

• A physical map shows the physical features of an area. 

• It gives information about the topography, or the height, depth, and shape, of these features sometimes by shades of color.

Climate Map

• This is used to help choose plants, building codes, and insurance.
