The seasons

There are four seasons in a year.
They are called winter, spring, summer and autumn.

In winter, it is cold. In some places it snows in winter. People wear warm clothes to keep warm.

In spring, it is not so cold.Trees grow new leaves during this season.

In summer, it gets warm.People wear light clothes to keep cool.

In autumn, it is cooler and leaves fall off some trees.

How seasons change:

The Earth is not only turning on its axis, it is also moving around the sun. The Earth takes about 365 days to circle the Sun. We call this period of time, a year.

During the year, different parts of the earth get different amount of sunlight for a period of time. We call these periods seasons.

In the summer season, there is more daylight, and the days are longer .In winter, there is less daylight ,and the days are shorter.
