shadow

The shadow is located by something facing the light source. If the light source is smaller than the barrier body, the shadow is equally dark. The wide source of light reflects a dark, concentrated shadow called a full shadow.

A shadow is the darkness caused by an object when it blocks light from reaching a surface. ^[1][2]When you stand in sunlight, the body blocks some light that could have illuminated the earth, so your shadow becomes a dark area in the form of your body. The Earth casts a shadow over space because it obscures some sunlight. The moon darkens during the lunar eclipse when it moves within the earth's shadow.
