  • Assets are things you own that own that have value: car, house, art, saving, etc.

  • Liabilities are things you own money own: mortgage, credit card, student loans, etc.

  • Net worth = assets - liabilities

  • Remember if liabilities is great than assets then do liabilities - assets and your net worth will be negative.

Step 1 Add the assets: 250 + 2400 = 2650

Step 2 Add the liabilities: 432 + 1200 = 1632

Step 3 Calculate net worth = Assets - liabilities ---- 2650 - 1632 = 1018 or $1,018

Her liabilities are a $1,500 car loan and a $1,200 student loan. What is her net worth.


Step 1 Add the liabilities: 1,500 + 1,200 = 2,700

Step 2 Calculate net worth = Assets - liabilities ---- 4,500 - 2,700= 1,800
