Assets are things you own that own that have value: car, house, art, saving, etc.
Liabilities are things you own money own: mortgage, credit card, student loans, etc.
Net worth = assets - liabilities
Remember if liabilities is great than assets then do liabilities - assets and your net worth will be negative.

What is John's net worth?
Step 1 Add the assets: 250 + 2400 = 2650
Step 2 Add the liabilities: 432 + 1200 = 1632
Step 3 Calculate net worth = Assets - liabilities ---- 2650 - 1632 = 1018 or $1,018
