• Contest Dates: Written Report Due November 2, 2020 and Speaking Contest will be November 17, 2020 AFTER School.

• Written Manuscript: Speech will need to be between 4 and 6 minutes in length on an agriculture related topic.

• Speaking Contest: Will be held live via Zoom.

• It has to be agriculture related!

• Pick something you are interested in learning and speaking about.

• Search for reliable sources to get your speech information.

• NO WIKIPEDIA!!!

Writing Your Speech

• Think about how you would write a paper for Language Arts class.

• Use complete sentences, proper spelling and grammar.

• Type on the GoogleDoc Mrs. Dorminey share with you. Copy and paste links to ALL sources on the page.

• Do NOT copy someone else's work word for word!

• Make sure you can pronounce all the words in your speech and know your facts!

• You don't have to memorize the written speech word for word.

• Practice by recording yourself speaking to help get used to being on camera for the Zoom contest.

• Watch your videos! Look for bad habits such as playing with hands/hair/clothing, swaying back and forth, or using the word UMMM!
