Teacher Think Aloud
I know that when I read a story, I can stay more connected to the text by making, confirming, and revising predictions.
I can look for clues and make predictions about what will happen to Prince Alfonso on his journey.
On page 157, Alfonso says he “would give anything and everything” for his father’s health.
On page 159, he asks forgiveness for causing his parents sorrow. Based on this evidence, I predict that Alfonso faces great danger. As I continue reading, I will look for story details to either confirm my prediction or revise it.
15
Multiple Choice
Is there a connection between the King getting better and the Prince's promise?
16
Multiple Choice
Was the feeling the Queen had in her heart correct?
The Queen's feeling of being worried was correct because the king is healed so now the Prince has to fulfill his promise to the voice
Her feeling was not correct. The Prince does not have to fulfill a promise.
17
Teacher Think Aloud
I will look for evidence on page 160 and 161 that either confirms my prediction that the Prince will face great danger, or leads me to revise it.
