Volleyball Terms

  • Pass - any hit to a teammate, a forearm pass

  • Set - a controlled pass, using your fingertips, to an attacking teammate

  • Spike/hit - an aggressive, one-handed hit meant to ground the ball in the opponent’s court

  • Serve - underhand/overhand to start game

  • Antennae - poles sticking up from the net to mark the court sidelines

  • Rally scoring - modern scoring method where a point is scored every serve
