Kinds of adjectives

An adjective is a word which describes a noun.

There are six types of adjectives. They are adjective of quality , adjective of quantity , demonstrative adjective , possessive adjective , numerical adjectives and interrogative adjective.

Adjective of quality

It describes the quality of nature of a noun. Eg: big , quiet , happy , old

Adjectives of quantity

It tells us the amount of a thing. Eg: less , more , a little

Demonstrative adjective

It points at particular nouns. Eg:this , that , these

Possessive adjective

It shows that something belongs to someone. Eg:my , my , his , her , yours , our , it's , their ,

Numerical adjectives

It gives you a number of a noun. Eg: one , thirty , one hundred.

Interrogative adjective

It asks a question about a noun. Eg: what , which , where

Order of adjectives

When we use two or more adjective , we put them in an order in a number quality , size , age , colour , shape , material or noun. Eg: long black hair , two white cats , a big red round plastic suitcase.

Order of adjectives

Number - one,three

Quality - beautiful , ugly

Size - big , heavy

Age - young , old

Shape - square , triangle

Colour - red , golden

Material - copper , woollen

These should come in order for example.....

I saw three beautiful,big , old , white cats
