Did you know that each culture have their own take of drama?
Like traditional tales, Drama can have different versions depending on culture.

Japan-Kabuki
The traditional Japanese classical drama which started about 400 years ago. It is known for its very stylized acting and the elaborate makeup worn by the actors. The word kabuki means "singing and dancing". It also means strange and different, to be outside what is normal. Kabuki is not meant to look like real life.

Russia-Ballet
Russian Theater is famous for their grand Ballets. This company performed in the Mariinsky Theatre at St. Petersburg. The three famous Tchaikovsky ballets, Swan Lake, The Sleeping Beauty, and The Nutcracker, date from that time. The next stage was the Diaghilev ballet. In 1909 he founded Les Ballets Russes de Sergei Diaghilev, considered by many to be the greatest ballet company of all time.

Broadway is the theater district in New York, New York. It is named for the main street around which the theaters are clustered. The city’s theater district hosts the premier commercial stage entertainment in the United States.
