Sovereignty

Absolute and supreme power not subject to control by any internal and external authority The opening words of the constitution is 'We, the people of India' reminds us that sovereignty belongs to whole people of India. It is their collective capacity as one unit.

Socialism

It means free from all forms of exploitation - social , economic and political.

Secularism

• Not concerned with religion

• Religious freedom and tolerance

Democracy

• Governed by people

• Power resided with people

• Opposite to monarchy

Republic
