Multiple Choice

The main idea of this activity was to

1

To track individual lions

2

To use geographical data for each lion to track them and determine relationships of lions nearby

3

I am directionally challenged and when I saw the map I got all confused

4

To determine only who the father was

3

Slide image

Check your map to my map and notice any differences. I only put arrows for the lions that moved

4

Multiple Select

Identify the most significant observations from the data on the map. Choose all that apply

1

The females were found in the same pride

2

The males were the ones that moved from pride to pride

3

Most of the cubs eventually wandered to other prides

4

When a lion wandered out of their pride they were killed

5

Poll

Do you think this new data changed your initial hypothesis of who the parents of cub 713 were. Mom=630, dad=633

Yes

No

It dependents

6

If YES, what evidence caused this change? If NO, what evidence supported your hypothesis?

Some lions resided in a different area than where they were born. This information supports the previous prediction because the chosen parents both relocated to different prides. 630 might have went back to her original pride after taking the cubs to Homob. Cubs were found residing in Homob. 633 might have died in 1992 (the year the cubs were born).
