Forces and Work
Most forces, such as pushing and pulling, makes an object move.
When a force makes an object move, scientists say that work s done.

If a force is used but the object does not move over a distance, then work is not done.
Imagine you are pushing against a wall. No work is being done as the wall is not moving, even though you could be pushing really hard.

When an object is moved by a force we can say that work is being done.

Is work being done?
When you pick up your bag from the desk, a force is acting on it and the bag is moving over a distance.
If you hold the bag without moving it, work is not being done as the bag is not moving.
