Pilots

Some astronauts can be Pilots. Their job is to control the spacecraft.

Mission specialists

Astronauts can be mission specialists. And they do many different things.

They inspect and fix the spacecraft. They also do experiments.

The ISS: International space station

The ISS is in orbit around the Earth, the astronauts work and live in it for long periods of time.

Satellites

These are machines that fly around the Earth. And they can do things like take pictures of the Earth, or help us know about the weather, or send signals for television and radio.
