• Definition: a way of using humor to show that someone or something is foolish, week, bad, etc.

• Example: ghost saying, "get a life"

• Definition: a humorous way of using a word or phrase so that more than one meaning is suggested

• Example: What do baseball players eat on? Home Plate

• Definition: A phrase that uses the words like or as to describe

• Example: He was as small as a mouse.

Hyperbole

• Definition: language that describes something as better or worse than it really is.

• Example: Grandpa is older than dirt.

• Definition: a word or phrase used to show or suggest two things are similar. (doesn't use like or as)

• Example: I'm so hungry I could eat a horse.
