The downfall of TOGO
2
What was TOGO?
TOGO was a Japanese amusement ride company that built roller coasters, giant wheels, carousels, flumes, dark rides, sky cycles and other amusement rides.
They once were a top manufacturer of rollercoasters in Japan, but after the failure of a certain rollercoaster in the United States, they filed for bankruptcy and were painted in a completely different way forever.

TOGO's United States debut
TOGO's first rollercoaster in the US was called Ultra Twister in Six Flags Astroworld. This was a TOGO Ultra Twister, a unique experience where passengers undergo multiple heartline rolls and a special chain lift system.
This ride was well recieved by enthusiasts and the public alike, because of the one-of-a-kind experience never before seen in the US.

Later TOGO
In 1997, TOGO's US reputation started to decline, with the introduction of Manhattan Express, a TOGO sit-down coaster. This is possibly TOGO's most notorious creation, thanks to the blasphemous amount of neckbanging on TOGO's horrible transitions. Obliviously, the ride is still open today. Although the ride was seen as a joke to enthusiasts, the ride has become an icon in the Las Vegas strip.

Windjammer Surf Racers
In the same year the Manhattan Express was built, TOGO built Wind Jammer Surf Racers, a TOGO Looping Mouse, a unique spin on the orthodox wild mouse, featuring a tight vertical loop. This rollercoaster was best known for its dueling mechanic, although due to unforeseen manufacturing complications, the dueling feature was rare to be seen working.

In the end, the new ride was a massive failure for the park, and an even bigger failure for TOGO. The ride was plagued with mechanical issues, and could not operate even in the slightest of breezes. Knott's eventually sued the infamous manufacturer, but the lawsuit was rejected.t
In 2000, the ride was eventually demolished, and in the same year, TOGO filed for bankruptcy. The ride was replaced by Xcelerator, an Intamin Accelerator that was far more reliable than Windjammer ever was.
