DEFINITION

BE GOING TOBagaimana dengan Be Going To? Sama ajah.

Be itu juga termasuk Auxiliary Verb alias kata kerja bantu.

Untuk Simple Future kita menggunakan Be dalam bentuk Present yaitu Is, Am, Are sesuai dengan Subjeknya.

Subjek I berpasangan dengan AM;

Subjek She, He, It berpasangan dengan IS dan terakhir They, We, You diikuti oleh ARE.

PERBEDAAN Be Going To DAN Present Continuous.

Be Going To ditambah Verb 1 sedangkan Continuous berisi Verb-ing.

Continuous: I am going to Marsya’s house.

Be Going To: I am going to study Math there.

Kalimat Continuous diatas berarti aku (sedang) pergi ke rumah Marsya.

Sedangkan yang kedua menyatakan hal yang akan dilakukan di sana yaitu belajar Matematika.

Setelah Be Going To diikuti VERB1 untuk Verbal dan BE untuk NonVerbal/Nominal.

Be going to memiliki kesamaan dengan Will/shall 

pada Simple Future, bedanya adalah, Be going to aktifitas yang akan di lakukan pada waktu akan datang yang sudah direncanakan/diprogram.

Pola Umum/Pattern:

S + be (is, am, are) + going to + V1

He, she, it : is

I : am

You, they we : are

Contoh:

a. (+) Saras is going to visit Mount Bromo next week.

    (-) Saras is not going to visit Mount Bromo next week.

    (?) Is Saras going to visit Mount Bromo next week? Yes, She is/ No, She is not.

b. (+) Tom and Tim are going to go fishing tomorrow.

    (-) Tom and Tim are not going to go fishing tomorrow.

    (?) Are Tom and Tim going to go fishing tomorrow? Yes, they are./No, They are not.

WILL

Rapid decision Keputusan yang diambil secara cepat, spontan. Contoh:

I’m thirsty. I think I will buy soft drink.

 OfferSebuah tindakan sukarela ketika menawarkan diri untuk melakukan sesuatu bagi orang lain. Contoh:

That luggage looks heavy. I will help you with it.

I will translate the email, so Mrs. Darcy can read it.

Will you help me fill the cup of tea?

PromiseMenyatakan sebuah janji. Contoh:

Don’t worry, I will not (won’t) tell anyone.

I won’t hurt your feeling.

ThreatWill juga bisa digunakan untuk melemparkan sebuah ancaman. Contoh:

 If you don’t stop, I will tell your father.

- RefusalMenyatakan sebuah penolakan. Contoh:

She won’t listen to anything I say.

GOING TO

Prior PlanGoing to digunakan untuk mengungkapkan rencana di masa mendatang, baik rencana tersebut realistis atau tidak. Contoh:

I’m going to the beach next weekend with my friends.

I’m going to have holiday in Paris.

 Evidence/SignsDigunakan ketika ada tanda-tanda bahwa sesuatu akan terjadi. Contoh: 

It’s 50-0. They’re going to win.

My stomach hurts a lot and I think I am going to throw up.

BE GOING TO

“Be going to”menyatakan kegiatan yang akan dilakukan dimasa mendatang yang sebelumnya sudah direncanakan,tidak peduli apakah rencana itu realistis atau tidak.

Example:

Ceri : Have you made any vacation plans?

Berry: Well, I've decided on the thing - I am going to go camping. 

Ceri : That's great! For how long?

Berry: I am going to be away for a week. I only have five days of vacation.

Ceri : So, when are you leaving?

Berry: I'm not sure. I will probably leave around the end of May.

Ceri : And where are you going to go?

Berry: I haven't thought about that yet. I guess I will go to one of the national park's.

Ceri : That sounds like fun.

Berry: Yeah. Maybe I will go hiking and do some fishing.

Ceri : Are you going to rent a camper?

Berry: I'm not sure. Actually, I probably will rent a camper - It's so expensive.

Ceri : Are you going to go with anyone?

Berry: No. I need some time alone. I'm going to travel by myself.

SUMMARY

Intinya, untuk aktivitas yang sudah ada perencanaannya, gunakan"going to".

Kalau spontan, barulah menggunakan "will".

Would like to artinya ingin, mau bisa berari akan dan memiliki makna yang hampir sama dengan be going to.

Pola Umum/Pattern:

S + Would like to + V1

Contoh:

a. (+) Father would like to stay in Jakarta next month.

    (-) Father would not like to stay in Jakarta next month.

    (?) Would Father like to stay in Jakarta next month? Yes, he would./ No, he would              not.

b. (+) We would like to get married on April 25.

    (-) We would not like to get married on April 25.

    (?)  Would we like to get married on April 25? Yes, We would./No, We would not.

WOULD LIKE TO

“Would like to” adalah suatu kalimat atau ungkapan untuk menunjukan penawaran/menawarkan suatu barang/benda dengan lebih sopan.

Example:

Julia: Alya, would you like go to bioskop at tonight?

Alya: I'm sorry Alya, i will go to library for my homework, maybe you can invite our friends.

Julia: Nothing, im going to invite my friend is

Gayatri.

Alya: Yeahh, good.
