Thinking Like the Author

Authors often have strong feelings about the subjects they write about. When reading, it is always important to figure out the author's attitude and point of view. Since the author may not come right out and say his or her views on a subject, it is important to look for hidden meanings. A good reader thinks about the words an author uses to make his or her point.
