2
This is where you get your reader's attention!
A quote from a famous person often works well.
3
This is where you will define what you will be discussing in your essay.
Don't forget to include the title and author of the work and any other important background information.
4
Thesis statement should include the answer to the prompt (narrowed subject) + an action verb + global idea. Example:
"In the novel, Of Mice and Men, Steinbeck explores the idea of the ideal male friendship through the journey of the main characters."
5
This is a PEA paragraph with two pieces of evidence. (PEA EA)
The transition should connect the paragraphs. Example: Although George becomes exhausted with Lennie's behavior he genuinely cares what happens to him.
6
Another PEA EA paragraph!
Make sure the transition connects the two paragraphs!
7
Last PEA EA paragraph.
8
Begin by rewording your thesis statement.
The body of the paragraph reminds your reader of the points you made in the essay.
9
The clincher statement is the last impression on your reader. It should tie everything together and express the greater meaning.
10
