PHRASAL VERBS
A phrasal verb is the combination of a verb and small particles. These small particles can be either adverbs or prepositions.
A phrasal verb often has a different meaning from the original verb.

PHRASAL VERBS:
SEPARABLE & NON-SEPARABLE
Phrasal verbs can also be classified as
non-separable or separable.
In a non-separable phrasal verb, the verb and the particle cannot be separated. That is, the object is always placed after the phrasal verb.
5
NON-SEPARABLE
(some examples)
Come across (deparar-se com...)
Get rid of (livrar-se de...)
Go over (examinar)
Look after (cuidar)
Look into (investigar)
Put up with (aturar algo/alguém)
Take after (parecer-se com alguém)
6
PHRASAL VERBS:
SEPARABLE & NON-SEPARABLE
In a separable phrasal verb, verb and particle can be separated. The object, therefore, can be placed between the verb and the particle.
7
SEPARABLE

Call off (cancelar)
Cheer up (animar)
Do over (repetir)
Find out (entender)
Let down (decepcionar)
Pick up (pegar)

8
PHRASAL VERBS: OBJECT PRONOUNS
When an object pronoun (me, him, her, it, us, you, them) is used with phrasal verbs, it must be placed between the verb and the particle.
